Right with one bid to come we can start preparing!!!

With £11.3 billion ponds this is the largest amount of cash ever for an auction - my records go back to season 23! But, with more teams the average (excluding Lincoln in debt) of £323m is lower than season 31 when it was a whopping £395m!!!

This is the most clubs ever to compete in an auction with 36 - although there may have been that many before season 23!

It is the first time there has ever been a ratio of 1 player per club with 36 players for 36 teams! Does that mean some have missed out?

On the bids there is a new record with, as far as I can tell, the first player to receive 8 round one bids!!!

I won't go into more detail as yet but some other records may well be broken...

We will get into them as we go...

As a reminder here is the list everyone was bidding on.

Lincoln, Wrexham and Arsenal all had no budget and so will have an opportunity in round 2!

That means 36 players for 33 teams to fight over!

Only four players in the auction received no bids at all and so these four kick off the pot for round two!

Now lets deal with Newcastle United. Sadly, @stocko74 submitted three bids over budget and so misses out in this ound. But with two ATM sales maturing that puts him in a great place for round two

That means there are 32 players and 32 clubs left...

We'll start at the top of the list - that seems as good a place as any to start...

A few teams debated going for this guy - but, in the end, only one did.

And that one team was Ipswich Town who made him their top priority. It means they spent £162m more than they needed to but it also means @Jamma will have the best GK in League one for the season taking hi man for a fee of £225,000,000.

That still leaves a very healthy budget if anything left in round three as well!

Only 400 abs lower than Trafford - but well over £100m cheaper!

The Japanese international only received one bid as well with @Eduardo making him a top pick for Brentford. And compared to Trafford, Ed has bagged his caretaker side an absolute bargain taking him for a fee of just £81,500,000

The most popular GK with three bids so people are going to start missing out.

If it were needed, Leeds' 3rd bid of £46m was not enough to take this player Forest made him their top target but their £61.5m was not enough.

And that is because @Westhammer decided he wanted a GK and made Hornicek his top target going in with a bid of £145,000,000. And that is more than enough to see Burnley walk away with a beand new goalie

Burnley's 2nd bid was £145m on Meslier and their 3rd was £140m on Di Gregorio. Neither was needed and so these two drop into round two

@Adam Riley is looking after Fulham and he made the Bosnian his top target for them. And as the only bidder he takes his man at a real bargain price of just £81,500,000

And the joint most popular FW as one of two that got four bids...

He was Hull City's 1st pick but their £71.75m was not enough. Neither was Coventry's £75m 3rd bid if it were needed. Or Derby's £133.5m if that were needed.

As it was it's another caretaker as @Andy made the striker his top choice for Watford and, if the Derby bid was needed (we'll see) he bid just enough - going less than £8m over the Rams with a winning bid of £141,250,000

The other popular FW was Garcia with four bids on him!

Coventry get a second strike having missed their third as their £105m 1st bid was the lowest. And Blackburn come in with their top bid of £131m but that was not enough. Meanwhile Derby also get a potential second strike as their 2nd bid of £133.5m was not enough if it was needed

And that is because @Burrows also made Garcia his top pick for Chelsea and he came in with a winning bid of £176,000,000 which is enough to take the Spaniard to Stamford Bridge
